About Mera

Mera began working with tarot and astrology in her early teens. She learned originally through her family which combines Celtic, English, Eastern European, Jewish and deep American roots.

Exploring her ancestral roots and past lives is something that she has done through meditation, intuition practices, and genealogy research of her matrilineal lineage. She works with clients intuitively to explore past lives. Mera is trained in past life regression therapy. Her work is both trauma informed and healing centered.

As a Psychotherapist she has worked with trauma informed methods in hospitals, inpatient, outpatient and partial hospital settings as well as in schools as a Social Worker with tweens & teens.  Over her 40+ years of practice she has specialized in working with many people who benefit from trauma informed care including marginalized communities.

As a business owner she has a successful NYRenFaire booth called Divination & Bodycraft. She opened and closed (after becoming a mother) a successful private therapy practice (18 years) that specialized in working with couples, families and individuals.

Creative Embodiment

Her embodiment practice and studies began with dance and she performed as a dancer/actress through her teens, young adulthood with her last performance in her forties.  She is a certified yoga teacher, a licensed massage therapist, a Gestalt body worker, a pleasure coach, and received certification as a dance/movement therapist.

As a Visual Artist, her work has appeared in juried and non juried shows; Her writing work has been anthologized and published in psychology and astrology journals and newsletters.

The creative arts feature strongly in her coaching work. She has been called on to lead mental health practitioners in continuing education professional development groups as well as a variety of populations in the development of rituals for social emotional empowerment.

As a coach, she has practiced in the Conspiring Women Reciprocal Coaching Program and Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts.
